Most library workers are not graphic designers, yet they must create signs, brochures, and marketing materials. How can a library create a consistent, professional look and feel for all marketing materials no matter who designs them? By creating a style guide! With a focus on both appeal and accessibility, the Oconomowoc Public Library has strengthened its brand identity and streamlined design elements by standardizing its writing style, fonts, and colors. Learn how Jennie and Lissa researched, created, and implemented a style guide for their library.

| SPEAKER BIOs Lissa Radder: Lissa Radder's role at the Oconomowoc Public Library has evolved from administrative support in 2012 to managing content and the promotion of library services and programs as the Marketing, Communications, & Adult Program Coordinator in 2021. Once described as having a mind as full “brain bunnies” that are continually jumping with new ideas, Lissa considers herself quite creative, enjoys the ability to bring her personal talents to her job, and loves to share her creations with others. Jennie Fidler: As the Special Services Coordinator at the Oconomowoc Public Library, Jennie balances serving young children and providing outreach services. She created a mobile library program in 2016 to provide pop-up libraries at senior living facilities and began delivering items to patrons at home in 2019. She also manages adult volunteers, coordinates the library's presence at community events, and wears many other hats. On her own, Jennie can be found snuggling with her cat, grooving to K-Pop, crocheting, and making tiramisu mousse. |
